Help Us Bring Free Dental Care to Underserved Communities in Jamaica
Our Story
In May of 2026, Dr. Klara Efner and her dental assistant, Mika, will be traveling to Port Antonio, Jamaica, as part of a Community Memorial Healthcare medical outreach mission. We will be joining CMH’s internal medicine team on a week-long trip to provide care to communities where access to basic medical and dental services is extremely limited.
This year, we have been invited to serve as the dental care team, allowing us to provide free dental treatment to individuals who often go years, and sometimes a lifetime, without access to a dentist. For many of the people we will serve, dental disease means chronic pain, infection, and a reduced quality of life simply because care is unavailable.
About the Mission
Alongside CMH’s medical staff, we will be setting up temporary clinics in Buff Bay, Avocat, and Port Antonio, working in collaboration with local partners.
On the most recent outreach trip, nearly 400 patients received care. This year, the team expects to care for more than double that number, and the addition of dental services will make an even greater impact on overall health and well-being.
Many individuals in these communities:
- Have untreated dental infections
- Lack access to regular cleanings or preventive care
- Experience chronic dental pain that affects their daily lives
- Have never had the opportunity to see a dentist
For many, even basic dental care can mean relief from pain, the ability to eat comfortably, and a meaningful improvement in overall health and quality of life.
How Your Support Helps
To participate in this mission, we are responsible for funding our own travel, lodging, setting up mobile clinics, and the dental supplies needed to safely and effectively provide care.

- Transportation to and within Jamaica
- Lodging and mission-related expenses
- Setting up mobile clinics in remote and underserved communities
- Essential dental supplies, equipment, and medications
- Free dental care for underserved patients
