My name is Stacey (Patrick's partner) and I am reaching out with heavy heart to ask for support during an incredibly difficult time in his children's life. I created this gofundme to ease the stress of the family.

Pat's children, Takera, Ataliah, Ben and Jett are facing the heartbreaking and sudden loss of their mum Rebecca Newton, who has recently passed away due to a house fire in Norlane, Victoria. In the midst of their grief, they are also dealing with the reality that they may not be able to attend her funeral without help.

No child should have to miss the chance to say goodbye to their mother.

This situation is especially heartbreaking for the youngest of the four, who is just 14 years old and hasn’t seen his mum for several years. This funeral is his chance to say goodbye — something no child should be denied.

We are hoping to raise funds to cover the travel costs needed to get all four children from Portland Victoria so they can be there to honour their mum, grieve together, and find some sense of closure during this devastating time.

Funds raised will go directly towards:

• Transport (fuel)

• Accommodation

• Basic travel expenses to ensure the children are safe and supported also to help with personal funeral costs.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and help ease just a little of the burden this family is carrying. This will have a massive effect on these children for the rest of their lives. No child should ever have to grow up without their mother.
