When people found out I was going back to the Middle East, everybody told me "don't come home with a cat!" and I very confidently told them all I wouldn't. Then I accidentally accumulated half a dozen…

The first of the crew, an handsome orange and white fluffigan named Chester, lives for love and attention. Out on the street, he was scrawny, filthy, and suffering from dental infections that made eating painful even if he could find food in the first place. Despite that, all Chester wanted was to snuggle. Chester is FIV+ and has already made the journey to the U.S., where he’s being watched over by the wonderful team at Second Chance, a no-kill rescue in Raleigh with a wealth of experience caring for and placing FIV+ kitties. Second Chance immediately said “yes” to taking in sweet Chester, and his forever family is going to be so lucky to find him there.

Mama Lucky's tail had been severed and needed to be amputated. In the process of trapping her, I discovered she had five newborns—three of whom have survived. Among them is a little black and white boy called Fearless, who is blind but is the most adventurous of the pack and loves to chase his jingle ball. His fluffy black and white sister is feisty and spirited like her mom, a quality that no doubt helped her survive when she got lost, separated from her family, and trapped in a hole on a construction site during the rescue effort. Their calico sister looks just like her Mama, and is sweet and shy but warming up to human affection.

Monkey Kitty, just 3.5 months old, was found alone in a parking lot, extremely distressed after being bullied by the bigger cats and having his food taken. He cried and cried and cried, and I couldn’t leave him behind. Now, he’s settled into life with humans and will thrive in a home with other cats.

We’ve partnered with the incredible people at the Feline Foundation of Greater Washington, who have agreed to provide the Lucky Kittens with qualified.foster care and eventual forever home placement in the U.S.  Everything is ready for the arrival… if we can get them here.

In lieu of donating to our GoFundMe, contributions made to FFGW in honor of The Lucky Family will go such a long way in helping us get these sweet babies out of the dangerous situation they were born into and safely to the U.S.:  https://ffgw.org/donation-form/

The funds raised will help cover their medical expenses, including a dental extraction, tail amputation, and spay for Mama Lucky, as well as the first round of vaccines for all five cats. In addition, your support will help pay for their boarding while they wait for travel and the shipping costs to bring them across the world. Every dollar will go directly to making sure these cats get the care and safe passage they need.

I would be so grateful for any help in bringing the sweet Lucky family and Monkey Kitty home. Your kindness will make a world of difference for these cats, and I can’t wait to share their happy new beginnings with you. Thank you for being part of our rescue journey!
