Help Bring Fable Home ️❤️
My beloved equine partner, Fable, and I have spent the last 8 months riding across Australia from east to west coast solo.
4,400km/2700mi from Tathra, NSW to Busselton, WA.
Bitless and barefoot every step of the way.
I want to emphasize that I am absolutely determined to work hard for it all myself if I need to even if it takes years. In truth it will cost 20k (per the quote I got) but I only felt comfortable asking for half, so I will work hard for the other half in the coming months. I expended all my personal funds on our cross-country ride, but I begin a new full time job this week to start slowly saving up!
Nonetheless, if you have enjoyed following Fable and my journey together and would like to help me get Fable home, it would mean the world to us.
Fable is a Snowy Mountain Brumby, 1 of 1000 to be saved from aerial culling (machine gunning by helicopter) of 8,000 killed in homeland in the last three years.
Once completely wild, I spent 3 months training him for our journey. He is the first horse I’ve ever trained by myself!
I always knew at the end that I would have to rehome him …
It seemed inevitable.
Yet now that the time has come after months of living side by side, sharing every sunrise and sunset together, I cannot bear to.
He has given me his all.
In return, I feel it’s my duty to ensure he always has a safe forever home. One where he’ll be loved even when he is old and unrideable.
Yet such a thing is impossible to promise if he is not mine…
So I have decided I’m going to try my best to import him to the USA.
Where we can be together, and he will always be safe and able to run free.
The Very First Photo I Took Of Fable The Day We Met
He was scrawny, awkward, and completely lacked confidence in himself, but the one thing he had was a soft, kind eye that said “please give me a chance.”
3 Months Later …
Fable had come so far, his heart so open, and was ready to prove himself on the open road!
It’s true what they say …
”To be loved, is to be changed”
Our journey ultimately took us through
New South Wales … and the Magnificent Snowy Mountains!!
We had a rocky start as Fable was so “green,” having only been ridden 10-20 times prior, but I am so glad I didn’t give up on him even when the going got tough.
To be able to see him come into himself and blossom into the horse he was always meant to be has been the greatest honor.
Victoria….Where My Heart Feels At Home!
South Australia….My Favorite State, So Gloriously Beautiful!
The Nullarbor…..The Very Best Bit. Dingos, Camels, and Brown Snakes, oh my!!
Western Australia….and it’s Wonder Of Wildflowers!
… and then it all came to an end at Forrest Beach in Busselton, WA, on January 20th, 2026!
Such a beautiful yet bittersweet moment!
… but it’s not goodbye forever!
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR EVERYONE WHO HELPS BRING FABLE HOME! ❤️
And if you aren’t able to donate but you’ve enjoyed following our story nonetheless, I’m happy to hear it! Thanks for tagging along on our wild ride!
