Help Bring Evers Lamar Green Home to Jacksonville

Our family is heartbroken as we mourn the tragic and untimely loss of Evers Lamar Green, who was recently killed in Roanoke, Virginia. This fundraiser is being organized on behalf of his loving Mother Sis. Cynthia Green and sister Keishaye Green, and the entire Green family as they work through an incredibly painful and complicated situation.

Evers was originally from Jacksonville, Florida, where his family and many loved ones reside. At the time of his passing, he had been living in Virginia and working hard to rebuild his life. He was a dedicated father of five children, a respected Head Chef at his job in Virginia, and someone who was known for his Humbleness, warmth,kind personality and for the genuine love he showed to everyone he met.

Tragically, Evers was just one week away from finalizing his divorce, which was scheduled for April 7, 2026, when his life was taken. This sudden loss has left his family devastated and facing difficult legal and financial challenges.

Right now, the family is urgently working to bring Evers home to Jacksonville, Florida, so he can receive the proper burial surrounded by the people who love him most. Unfortunately, the process has become complicated.

Authorities in Virginia have informed the family that the cost to transport Evers back to Jacksonville is approximately $2,800, and additional complications have arisen as his estranged wife is attempting to claim the body. Because of this, the family must travel to Virginia and obtain a civil attorney to legally secure the rights needed to bring Evers home.

Virginia authorities have given the family 30 days to resolve these matters, creating a very urgent timeline.

The funds raised will help cover:

• Transportation of Evers’ remains from Virginia to Jacksonville

• Travel expenses for family members to go to Virginia

• Legal fees to obtain a civil attorney

• Applicable court and documentation fees

• Additional transportation and logistical costs to bring him home for burial

Evers meant so much to so many people. He was a father, brother, son, friend, and mentor who had a heart for others and a passion for the work he did as a Head Chef. His presence brought joy and comfort to those around him, and his loss is being felt deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.
