On Saturday, July 11, 2026, my little brother Donte Wanton was spending time with friends at Huguenot Park in Jacksonville, Florida. While they were out in the river, a sudden current swept them away. Two of his friends were rescued, but Donte has yet to be found. This has been a heart-wrenching experience for our family, as myself, my siblings, and our mother are all in different states, trying to navigate this tragedy and support each other from afar.

We are seeking financial assistance to help us bring Donte’s body back to Georgia once he is found, and to give him the service he deserves. The funds raised will go toward travel expenses for our family, funeral costs, and any other needs that arise as we honor Donte ’s memory. He was only 29 years old, and he will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
