Help Bring Davoris Home and Support His Family

Our hearts are broken as we ask for support for the family of Davoris "Peter" Carter III, a beloved son, brother, student, and friend who was tragically lost.

Davoris was only 14 years old and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was kind, joyful, funny, and had a smile that could light up any room.

Davoris was attending a school trip to Wildwood, New Jersey, when a tragic incident occurred in the ocean. Despite extensive search efforts, Davoris remains missing. His family is committed to doing everything possible to bring him home and provide him with the dignified burial he deserves.

He was just days away from graduation. Davoris was an honor roll student and was recently accepted to the Philadelphia Police Department Police Explorers Program, summer camp, and the Philadelphia City Rowing Program. He was also a part of Jobs for America’s Graduates. His future was filled with promise, hope, and opportunity.

Davoris leaves behind his mother, Shyara, an Operations Manager and community advocate who has dedicated her career to supporting children and families involved in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. She is the loving mother of 4 children, all of whom are now facing this unimaginable loss of their brother. He also leaves behind his devoted father, Davoris Jr., who is grieving the unimaginable loss of his son and holding onto hope as efforts continue to bring Davoris home.

Through his kind heart, and joyful spirit, Davoris built and maintained many meaningful relationships. He was surrounded by a loving and close-knit community of family, friends, mentors, coaches and supporters who are now grieving his loss and holding his family in their hearts during this difficult time. We are asking our community to come together and help support Davoris’s family during this devastating time.

Funds raised through this campaign will help:

* Hire a private search and recovery team to expand efforts into surrounding waterways and areas in hopes of bringing him home.

* Help relieve the unexpected financial burdens, and

* Support Davoris’ siblings and family with additional financial costs as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Should funds remain after search and recovery expenses, they will be used to support Davoris’s siblings and family as they work to heal in the months ahead.

No amount of money can ease the pain of losing a child, but together we can help bring Davoris home and lessen some of the burdens his family now faces.
