Hello friends,

For transparency purposes, and GoFundMe requirements, I want to state that I’m Nely Duran Jimenez, sister of E. Daniel Duran Jimenez, who is the person we are trying to help. I’m running this fund raiser on my mom’s behalf, D. Laura Jimenez Gutierrez as Danny is unable to make any transactions himself due to being detained.

As you may already know, Danny is safe but we need help bringing him home. It is with great humility that we ask for your generosity with this stressful and unexpected incident.

Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time. As well as all of us are, during this unprecedented time. After being detained in St Paul, Danny was transferred to ICE custody (in a hospital) in El Paso, Texas. This has made access to family support and legal resources significantly more difficult.

We have learned that without legal representation, Danny’s immigration process could take three months or longer, during which time he would remain detained. Having an experienced immigration attorney in El Paso could significantly impact both the timeline and outcome of his case and help ensure that his situation is clearly and fairly presented.

Unfortunately, the cost of hiring a lawyer is more than our family can manage on our own. We are raising funds to help cover:

1. An immigration attorney and sister/brother attorney

2. Legal and filing fees

3. Related costs necessary to advocate for Danny’s release and due process

4. Medical bills

5. Transportation fees

For those that know Danny, he is a deeply kind and gentle person. He is loved by his family and community, and this sudden separation has been devastating for all of us. Since his detention, communication has been inconsistent, and we often don’t know how he is doing or when we will be able to speak with him again.

He is a human being who deserves access to legal counsel, dignity, and the chance to move through this process with proper support.

Any contribution, whether through donating or sharing this page, makes a meaningful difference. We are grateful for every bit of support during this painful and uncertain time.
