What was supposed to be a routine immigration appointment changed this family’s life in an instant. Daniela went to her scheduled appointment expecting to return home to her loved ones. Instead, she was detained by ICE, leaving her husband and two daughters facing an unimaginable situation without her.

Her 6-year-old daughter is left asking the heartbreaking question: “When is Mommy coming home?” At an age when she should only have to worry about school, friends, and being a kid, she is struggling to understand why her mother is suddenly gone. Her older sister is trying to be strong for her little sister while navigating the emotional and financial challenges of keeping their family together.

Daniela’s husband is also facing the pain of being separated from his wife while trying to support their daughters through this difficult time. The girls miss their mother deeply, and the entire family is struggling with the emptiness her absence has left behind. No family should have to endure this kind of separation.

Sadly, this family has already experienced devastating heartbreak this year. In March, Daniela suffered the unimaginable loss of her 17-year-old son who tragically passed away in a car accident. After such a profound loss, the family is now facing another painful separation, leaving them overwhelmed with grief, uncertainty, and financial hardship.

Daniela’s legal expenses have already exceeded $15,000, and the costs continue to grow. Her family is doing everything possible to cover these expenses, maintain their home, and care for their daughters while fighting to bring her back home.

Lo que debía ser una cita rutinaria de inmigración cambió la vida de esta familia en un instante. Daniela acudió a su cita programada esperando regresar a casa con sus seres queridos. En cambio, fue detenida por ICE, dejando a su esposo y a sus dos hijas enfrentándose a una situación inimaginable sin ella.

Su hija de 6 años se hace la desgarradora pregunta: "¿Cuándo volverá mamá a casa?". A una edad en la que solo debería preocuparse por la escuela, los amigos y disfrutar de su infancia, le cuesta entender por qué su madre se ha ido repentinamente. Su hermana mayor intenta mantenerse fuerte por la pequeña mientras afronta los desafíos emocionales y económicos de mantener unida a la familia.

El esposo de Daniela también sufre el dolor de estar separado de su mujer mientras intenta apoyar a sus hijas en estos momentos difíciles. Las niñas extrañan profundamente a su madre, y toda la familia lucha contra el vacío que ha dejado su ausencia. Ninguna familia debería tener que soportar este tipo de separación.

Lamentablemente, esta familia ya ha sufrido un dolor devastador este año. En marzo, Daniela vivió la pérdida inimaginable de su hijo de 17 años, quien falleció trágicamente en un accidente automovilístico. Tras una pérdida tan profunda, la familia se enfrenta ahora a otra dolorosa separación, lo que los deja abrumados por el duelo, la incertidumbre y las dificultades económicas.
