On September 2, 2026 Daniel Hidalgo-Argote—a son, a brother, and a friend—was detained by ICE at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport returning home from a work trip.

Whether you know him, or this is your first time reading his name. Daniel is a loving, ambitious, and gentle human being with a heart that extends beyond just family and friends. Daniel has been in the United States legally for over 10 years and has remained in good standing since. His academic journey truly took off in high school, where his teachers and counselors quickly noticed his outstanding academic and social performance. This recognition helped him secure scholarships to fund his education. He pursued a prestigious education at Colorado State University in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and has since excelled in a career that went beyond his degree. Throughout his journey he created life long bonds within every community he’s stepped into.

At this time, Daniel is still being held in custody while he waits for his court date on September 21, 2026. In the meantime, many of his loved ones are moving with urgency to bring in the right help and support to defend him before then.

Naturally, fighting anything of this matter comes at a cost. That’s why we are asking for help. We have actively been working with lawyers to push for bond so at the least Daniel can be in the comfort of his home while waiting for his hearing.
