Help Bring Daddy's Girl to Life!
Donazione protetta
Aloha! My name is Taryn Kanoelani Dacuag, and I’m a Filmmaker at New York Film Academy - Los Angeles. I’m thrilled to bring my Senior Thesis short film, Daddy’s Girl, to life—and I need your support!
The Story:
High school Senior, Valerie is discovering her sexuality, but as she embraces her true self, her once-close bond with her father begins to fray. Fueled by fear of rejection, she rebels against him, creating a deeply personal and relatable conflict.
Why This Matters:
This film is a love letter to my Father, my home, and the Hawaii I grew up in. I’m passionate about telling authentic stories that showcase Hawaii’s beauty beyond the postcard image. By filming on Oahu, I want to bring this intimate and heartfelt story to life in a way that resonates locally and globally.
How You Can Help:
Your contributions will go toward:
Production – Equipment, locations, set design
️Post-Production – Editing, sound, color correction
Distribution – Film festival submissions & marketing
Supporting the incredible cast & crew – Every person involved is bringing their passion and talent to this project, and I want to ensure they are recognized and taken care of for their hard work.
I know times are hard for just about everyone so if you are unable to donate, sharing this post will be greatly appreciated.
All donors will be credited at the end of the film
