Help bring Cynthia Summer home

On August 19, 2022, at 1:20am in San Francisco (6:20pm Guam time), Cierra and David Ignacio encountered the most heartbreaking trauma that no parent should ever have to endure. Unfortunately, their 12 year old daughter, Cynthia Summer, lost her battle brought on from being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia after only a year of being diagnosed.

Cynthia became cancer free in July of 2021 and went into remission. Six months into remission, she relapsed and the cancer spread rapidly. She had to undergo another bone marrow transplant and a more aggressive form of chemotherapy. Once again, in June of 2022 she became cancer free. Unfortunately due to complications, Cynthia’s lungs started to fail and she was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pneumonia Syndrome. She then had to have a lung biopsy done which determined she also had Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia (COP). There were 2 other contributing factors to her lung disease but we are still waiting on the results from the autopsy. Cynthia was a warrior that fought extremely hard, but her body was not as strong as her will to live and fighting spirit. She stayed positive throughout her fight and truly believed she could beat it. But God had other plans for her.

Aside from the extensive medical expenses that were incurred from hospital bills, the family now faces emotional heartache, pain, distress and coming to terms with facing a new reality from Cynthia’s passing.

There are no words to describe the grief placed upon our family, most especially her parents, and her siblings. And while we will never be able to take away the pain that comes from losing a loved one, we kindly ask for your contributions to help bring Cynthia back to Guam, her home, to lay her to rest and to alleviate some of the financial burden. If donations can’t be made, prayers are always welcomed ❤️

Thank you in advance for the love, prayers and/or donations. Si Yu’os Ma’åse!
