Christine is our mum, nan, auntie, and friend, and right now she's thousands of miles from home, in an ICU ward in Rhodes, and we need your help to bring her back to us.

After years of illness, Christine finally felt well enough to do something she'd long dreamed of - a cruise, a moment of joy after so much hardship. She did everything right. She paid a significant premium for comprehensive travel insurance and declared every one of her medical conditions, because she wanted to be properly covered.

Sadly she fell seriously ill on board. She was airlifted to the nearest island, Rhodes, where she has been on a ventilator in intensive care. The medical team there can no longer continue her care, and she needs to come home.

Her insurance company is refusing to pay for that repatriation. Despite the fact that Christine disclosed everything she knew about her own health, provided all evidence needed, was confirmed fit to travel, and paid over the odds to do it.

The cost to repatriate her safely, on a medical flight with the care she needs, is £41,600. So much more than our family could possibly afford.

We are not people who ask for help easily. But we are asking now — because Christine deserves to come home. She deserves to recover surrounded by the people who love her.
