Over the last few days, my dog Chanel had been acting a little different, but in hindsight I realize there were signs I didn’t fully understand at the time. Yesterday, I walked into my apartment and found that she had passed away. I am 28 years old and live alone, and I’ve had her since she was a baby. She was my world, and losing her so suddenly has left a huge hole in my heart.

I was so fortunate to have my neighbors, who I’ve never really talked to before, come together and help me transport my sweet girl. Now I am reaching out to the community for help to bring my fur baby home. It is incredibly important to me to be able to bring her home through cremation and have her ashes with me. Chanel was only 8 years old, and her loss has been devastating for both me and my other dog, who has never known a day of life without her.
