HELP BRING CDE AGUIL'S BODY TO SOUTH SUDAN

Beschermde donatie
I am Deng Bol Aruai Bol from the Lost Boys and Girls Memorial Foundation (LBGMF) Canada. I am saddened to share with you this bad news. A week ago, Comrade Aguil Chut Deng went missing in Australia, and days later, she was found dead. The police are still ascertaining the cause of her death, and the family will address the public shortly. Comrade Aguil has done all she wanted to do. She liberated South Sudan as a soldier in the SPLM/A and advocated for peace, raised her children, and cared for her relatives and friends. She was not only a Sudanese, South Sudanese, but also an Australian and a world citizen full of life and humanity who was always willing and ready to help anybody in need.

Comrade Aguil, just like millions of war veterans – "war wounded, widows, orphans, Red Army, and Katiba Banat, who witnessed horrors of civil war and suffering during the liberation struggle, was a victim of the promises not entirely fulfilled in a land of plenty." We can only take solace because she is finally resting peacefully. But, knowing Comrade Aguil, she will rest better in South Sudan, a country she loves dearly. With your kind donation, the family will be able to transport the body of Comrade Aguil to South Sudan, where she can be laid to rest with the honor she deserves. Although she didn’t reach a senior rank in the SPLM/A, she was very known for her activism and advocacy for the people of South Sudan during and after the civil war. She demonstrated unmatched patriotism in everything she does with her encouragement through morale to our forces, both SPLA and SSPDF. A very committed and agile member of the ruling party, the SPLM, she loved and supported the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to her last day on earth.

The goal of transporting the body of Comrade Aguil to South Sudan is progressing well thanks to the generosity of several well-wishers. Still, we have been forced to amend the original projected amount. The family is now appealing for 50,000 Canadian Dollars to cover the cost of funeral and burial, including transportation of children and family members accompanying the body and support to the children. We are almost there; let’s go! Here are a few ways you can help.

Thank you for honoring Comrade Aguil with this massive turnout of condolences, sympathizers, and financial support. Comrade Aguil has done so much for our nation and humanity, and as citizens, the least we can do is let her rest on our soil.

Comrade Aguil needs you now!
