Hi, my name is Cassandra, as you all know my father was taken Thursday 7/3/25 by ICE. Our family has been going through an incredibly difficult time. Yesterday, July 8th, we received the devastating news that he had been deported, but not through official channels. No one from ICE contacted us or gave any information about his status. We tried to visit him yesterday at 6pm and no one communicated with us about where he was located. It wasn’t until 8pm that he called us from Tijuana. He was alone, frightened, and heartbroken.
My father is battling cancer. While he was in ICE custody, he was not receiving the life-saving treatment he urgently needs. After days of not getting the necessary medical care and realizing there was no clear path forward, he made the tough decision to self-deport so that he could try to access care outside the U.S., even if it meant being separated from his family, home, and community.
We are absolutely heartbroken. This decision was not made lightly. It was one of desperation and survival. Now he’s in a country he hasn’t lived in for decades, without stable housing, limited resources, and in urgent need of ongoing medical care we’re struggling to secure.
We are asking for your kindness and support to help cover the costs of his treatment outside the U.S. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a direct impact on his well-being.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family during this incredibly difficult time.
