Help Bring Caitlyn Shaw's Film 'Open' to Life

Hello! My name is Caitlyn Shaw and I’m the Writer and Director of the upcoming short film “Open.”
Logline: Two best friends start crashing graduation parties for a last hurrah, but when one of them takes things too far their friendship threatens to shatter.
This film holds a very special place in my heart. I wrote this script in one of my first film classes at GVSU. It seems only right for it to be my senior thesis and a cumulation of everything I’ve learned over the past few years.
The story is important to me as it is loosely based on a toxic friendship I had when I was younger. I want to make this film to remind people they’re not obligated to keep trying to help someone who refuses to help themselves. As I wrote this story, I reflected on why hurt people hurt people. I hope this film serves as an entertaining yet cautionary tale of the consequences of avoiding your problems. I also hope it encourages people to make an effort to change toxic behaviors before it’s too late.
All funds will go towards making all the unique aspects of this film possible including a thirty-person food fight and some truly bizarre taxidermy.
