Help Bring Brookie Home

In Loving Memory of Brooklyn Zara Stovall Salas

Our Sweet Brookie

With broken hearts, we share the devastating news that on May 18, 2025 (WA time), our precious and beautiful Brooklyn Zara, affectionately known as Brookie, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father.

Brookie is the beloved eldest daughter of Jordan and Amber Salas, and the most helpful, loving, and kind sister to Tyler Patrick, Xyla Reese, and Isaiah Jude. From the moment she entered this world, she radiated charisma and captured the hearts of everyone blessed to know her. Her smile could light up every room—if you’ve known or loved her, you know she was the exclamation point at the end of life’s happiest sentence.

A natural-born achiever, Brookie was recognized for her academic excellence and perfectionist spirit from a young age. But she wasn’t just brilliant—she was bold, beautiful, sassy, and sweet. Artistic and affectionate, compassionate and courteous, she expressed her love through heartfelt drawings and handmade cards. A selfie pro, a lover of dressing up, a true girly girl proud of her My Melody and squishy collections, she also delighted in nature—listening to birds, playing outside, and exploring with her siblings, cousins, and friends.

At age five, Brookie was diagnosed with asthma. Just weeks ago, she was admitted to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital (Tacoma, WA) due to an asthma exacerbation but was released after a few days, having shown improvement. Our girl was a fighter—no medical condition could deter her sense of wonder.

This past Sunday, Brookie started her day with a morning prayer alongside her siblings, gave thanks for another day, toasted chocolate chip waffles for her siblings and herself, and helped fold clothes with her mom and sister Xyla. While relaxing with her cousins, tragedy struck. Brookie experienced a severe asthma attack. Her last words were, “I love you, Mom,” before what is believed to have been a generalized tonic-clonic seizure in her mother’s arms—one she’d never recovered from. Despite over an hour of valiant efforts by the Lacey Fire Department, a doctor ultimately advised the team to cease revival efforts.

Brookie was deeply loving, joyful, and full of charm. Her passing has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

Her family—who recently relocated from Guam to Lacey, WA, in hopes of creating brighter opportunities—now faces not only immense grief but financial hardship. We humbly ask for your support to help bring Brookie home to Guam, where she grew up, enjoyed the beach, and created cherished memories with her loved ones.

Funds raised will go toward funeral expenses, travel costs, and helping her family navigate this painful chapter.

If this story has touched your heart, please know that no donation is too small. Your kindness will help give our sweet Brookie the beautiful send-off she so deserves.

Most of all, we ask for your continued thoughts and prayers for Brookie, her parents Jordan and Amber, and her siblings Tyler, Xyla Reese, and Isaiah as they learn to live with this unimaginable loss.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Family of Brooklyn Zara
