It's time to showcase performing women over 40 in Detroit & nationwide! As we gear up for the Broadminded Women Over 40 Revue to take the stage on April 18, 2026, at the Magic Bag theater, we need YOUR help to make it spectacular.
This show is all about celebrating bold, brilliant women over 40 — both in Detroit and from across the country, all on ONE stage. That means … travel costs, among other things. And you can help make this magical night as inspiring as possible.
This is more than a performance — it’s a movement to uplift women who society doesn't always center on stage. Let’s show the world what happens when age meets artistry!

Message from producer Revolva: I founded "BroadMinded: Women Over 40 Revue" in San Francisco, as a way to honor my transition into my 40s—and to defy messages encouraging women to hide our age. Now, I want to bring BroadMinded to DETROIT on April 18, 2026, to launch the transition into my 50s!
BroadMinded debuted to national acclaim; the west coast cast has been featured in Vice, Huffington Post, and more. This time, we will showcase the women of the metro Detroit area, where I was born and where my 20-plus-year hoop dance career began, along with some national performers ages 40 to 81!
GOALS FOR FUNDS
- Paying older women artists what they deserve. Fundraising ahead of time will help me ensure, even without the unknowns around ticket sales, that I can guarantee a decent wage.
- Helping with traveling costs for 40+ women performers coming from out of town. I benefitted so much from forging my career in Detroit and then also making national connections when I moved to California in my 30s. We already have some national artists booked because one of my goals for the show is to expand community and opportunities for older women artists who live in Detroit and beyond. You can help support outgoing costs for our traveling performers.
- Covering some extra roles. I have a lot of skills. I also do communications for a living. But to have the show filmed and photographed, and to ensure all the social media and graphics jobs are done, etc, it would be nice to have help.
When women are told our highest value lies in our appearance, and by association, our youth, the years beyond 40 are supposed to be a slip into irrelevance. But BroadMinded has no time to pay attention to ageism/sexism because we're too busy being badass at skills decades in the making.
We're here to let younger folks know that women don't have to aspire backward in time. We can stay vibrant, relevant, creative, and on stage forever. Friends far and wide, anything you can give to lift up women over 40 in DETROIT will be greatly appreciated and well put to use.
