My name is Sammy Jo Pendergrast — author, and filmmaker.

I’ve spent years building the Bluestarverse, a sci-fi saga about hope in the dark, found family, and the spark inside us that helps us become who we are.

This GoFundMe supports the next step in that journey: a short cinematic teaser based on my script “Breathe, Bluestar.”

It’s a project I’ve written and poured my heart into which shows another first look into the world of Jase Bluestar, Princess Skyrah Nightstar, and the cosmic war that shaped them while they travel to different worlds. This short teaser takes place before my award-winning film, Kurath Thor, that you can watch on Youtube.

I’m an independent filmmaker working with a small, passionate team here in Nashville, Tennessee. This film means more to me than just a project — it’s the beginning of bringing my books to the screen, and to show that you don't need a big budget to make films.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard I work I can't bring this story to life by myself. This is where you, my amazing friends and family come in.
