Bowie Deville is my granddaughter, and she has lived with me all her life. She’s a bright, caring fifth grader who takes her education seriously and volunteers her time to help younger students at school. Bowie’s world has always revolved around her friends, her school, and her family, and she’s happiest when she’s surrounded by those she loves.
Unfortunately, Bowie’s life was turned upside down when her dad, who has primary custody, decided to move her 95 miles away—just after her mom moved close by to be more involved in her life. Bowie’s mom has only been able to see her seven times in three years, and Bowie misses her deeply, often crying for her. Despite her mom’s efforts, including filing two court motions, the legal system has made it difficult for her to stay connected. Now, with the help of attorneys offering bundled services, there’s hope, but the costs are still out of reach due to her mom’s limited income from SSI.
Any funds received will go directly to attorney fees to help bring Bowie home, back to her school, her friends, her mom, and her grandparents. We’re estimating the total need because we cannot risk having to dismiss our attorney before the end goal is achieved. Our driving determination is to be sure Bowie has a secure, predictable, safe childhood—something every child deserves. If you’re unable to help financially, a small prayer or blessing for Bowie is also powerful. Thank you for reading and for caring about her future.
