$800 for one day of HawkEye Drones
$800 for one day of Pack Leader pet trackers
$300 for two nights of hotels during tracking
That means $1084 dollars will be sent to Missing Dogs Massachusetts. Maggie from MDM will come to the community gathering we will hold soon near Colrain to meet everyone, but we will send the money this weekend. Thank you all again!
Update 12/1 Part 1: We feel that we have given enough time for Boris to reappear. We don't want to hold on to this extra money forever. Barring some miracle, we will be sending the remaining money to Missing Dogs Massachusetts this weekend. We will post the expenses and the donation line by line right here. Again, we can't thank all of the people involved with searching for Boris enough. You've all tried so hard alongside Boris' family and we all hoped for a happy reunification. We will never forget what you've done and you are all beautiful people. Stay tuned. We should have the last post up by Sunday. Thank you again.
Update from Megan!! Thanks to your very generous donations, we have been able to hire two experts to help find him. We hired Hawkeye Aerial for $800. We hired Pack Leaders trackers from CT for $800. spent $300 (total) at Blooming Inn to pay for 2 rooms for in the area for tonight and tomorrow night so I can be in the area and have a place to sleep. We heard of another tracker who very familiar with this area, and we may hire him if we can find him.
Funds from the fundraiser have NOT been used for:
6 trail cams/batteries we purchased to try to get footage of him, meat to bait trail cams, supplies for the 250 fliers we hung up, gas money for over 500 miles we have driven traveling all over a 5 town search area and to/from Worthington every day, high powered flashlights, food/drinks, my brothers travel to/from Boston. Again, if any funds remain when this is resolved, they will be donated to Missing Dogs Massachusetts. Thank you all again!
Boris is a beloved 14 year old Great Pyrenees who went missing from Colrain, MA on Monday the 6th. He has been a family member and protector for Megan, Mike and India for his entire life. Boris is a gentle giant, friend to all people, and scarer-off of neighborhood bears. He committed his life to his family and friends and is loved by everyone who meets him. Now he is lost, cold and alone somewhere in the woods.
His story should not end this way.
There have been sightings in the surrounding areas and his family has hired a professional infrared drone operator who specializes in lost animals. The next step is hiring a tracker, and finally bringing him to the vet to recover and return home. If you own an animal, you know how fast these bills can pile up. Every cent we raise will go to finding and rehabilitating Boris. If there is extra money for any reason it will be donated to Missing Dogs Massachusetts to fund their amazing work.
Boris is elderly and infirm. He needs arthritis meds. He may have difficulty moving around and may try to avoid people. He is scared and confused. If you see him, please keep him in sight and try to hold on to him. Contact us and someone will rush over! Mike and Megan flew back from the opposite side of the country the moment they heard Boris was lost. They both work in human services supporting our communities and could really use this financial help. Thank you very much for your donation. Any amount will help!
