Support independent production of "Blackbird" in NYC

Donation protected
I am independently producing and acting in the Olivier Award-winning play "Blackbird" by David Harrower. The play is set to premiere in April 2025 in an intimate theatre in New York City.

A production that centers around themes of sexual abuse and related mental health in a raw, uninterrupted human interaction is pivotal - with potential to identify, help, and perhaps prevent these situations in real life.

Directed by lifetime member of the Actors Studio, Suzanne DiDonna, and starring award-winning actor Scott McCord (lifetime member of Actors Studio and recently known for his portrayal of Victor in the critically acclaimed series FROM) and Emilie Rose Bak (a recent graduate of The Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute), this play aims to be a raw, immersive portrayal of human nature, honoring the unfiltered nature of this intense play.

About the play
This complex drama depicts a story about an unconventional love and the crippling effects of abuse. Una, a 27-year-old woman, has tracked down Ray, a 55-year-old man, with whom she shares a dark past. The story unfolds and raw emotions run high as they revisit the passionate relationship they had fifteen years ago, when he was forty and she was only twelve. Controversial in its nature, it breaks boundaries and poses serious questions about society and morality.
This intense work was commissioned by the Edinburgh International Festival, where it received its world premiere. The play won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play in 2007 and was Tony-nominated for its revival on Broadway in 2016.

My humble ask
To make all this possible, I have a wonderful creative team who are working hard to realize this production. However, this involves a few necessary costs which are difficult for me to cover alone, as an independent artist.

Your donation would be greatly appreciated, no matter what size! It would help make this production come to life as best as possible. The funds raised for this production will go to the scenic aspects of our show, as well as rehearsal spaces and marketing to help spread the word.

We are incredibly grateful for all the support we get with helping us bring this vital story to the stage. Whether you are able to donate or not, thank you so much for your support <3 <3 <3
