Hi my name is Christie, Help Bring Little Billy Home From Greece

I never expected to fall in love on this holiday and certainly not with a tiny kitten sleeping inside a Greek vase.

On the very first day at our villa, we found a little ginger kitten waiting for the door to open. He was alone, but the moment he saw us, he bounded over as if he’d been waiting for someone to love. He was tiny, affectionate, and completely trusting far more trusting than any stray should ever need to be.

We named him Billy.

Every morning, he waited patiently outside our door until we woke up. Every day, he followed us everywhere cuddling us, playing, chasing pebbles and bugs to entertain himself. If we ever left the villa, he would sit by the door until we came back.

He chose us.

As the days went on, I realised the heartbreaking reality once the holiday season ends, stray kittens like Billy often don’t survive. The thought of leaving him behind absolutely shattered me. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t stop crying. The guilt of imagining him alone again waiting by a door that would never open ruined my holiday.

In that moment I knew that I wouldnot abandon Billy. I would bring him home no matter the cost. I contacted local charities and local vets had all vaccinations he needed health checked and his passport done he also had an ear infection in both ears that needed treating and drops applied daily with the help of the foster and woman who will be helping fly Billy home.

All funds will go towards the vet fees passport, flights custom and import fees, he will be getting neutered once home with us and we want to provide the best comforts we can for him to help him settle in with us as this will be a big change for him.

This adoption is entirely my choice, and I am committed to covering everything myself. But a few kind people and friends suggested I open a GoFundMe to allow others who connected with Billy’s story to help lighten the load.
