My name is Lesly Portillo, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest moments my family has ever faced. On the morning of April 7th, my dad, Alberto Portillo, was detained by ICE, and our lives were turned upside down.
My dad is more than just a hardworking man—he is the heart of our family. He has always done everything he can to provide for us, to protect us, and to make sure we were okay no matter what. Being without him right now is something I can’t even begin to put into words. Our home doesn’t feel the same without him.
What makes this even more painful is knowing that he is currently being held in conditions that are not safe for him, especially because of his ongoing medical issues. As his daughter, it’s incredibly difficult to know he’s struggling and that I can’t be there to help him.
Right now, our biggest hope is to bring him home. We are urgently trying to secure legal representation, but the costs are overwhelming for our family. That’s why I’m reaching out and asking for your support.
Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward my dad’s legal fees and help us fight for his return. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this or keeping us in your prayers means just as much to us.
Please help me bring my dad home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with us during this time.
