Help Bring Baby Gosser Home
Welcome Baby Gosser!
Baby Cathleen Marie Gosser was welcomed into this world on April 30th, 2020, weighing 7lbs 8oz. She joined her young, beautiful, family-Jacob, Ashley and new Big Sister Gloria Grace, who will turn 2 next week!
Baby Cathleen is so loved by her family already! She hasn't been able to join them at home just yet-she is being cared for in the NICU. Cathleen was born with unique challenges, and has been diagnosed with Goldenhar Syndrome, a rare congenital condition occurring in one in every 3,000-5,000 births.
Cathleen has had four surgeries in less than one month of life. Although she is a fighter for sure, she will need more surgeries in the future, to help her functionally as she grows.
Jacob and Ashley have endured many obstacles in the last month. First navigating the birth of their second child during a pandemic, affecting their birth experience and time together to bond with Cathleen. Gloria has not been able to meet her baby sister yet. Jacob and Ashley had planned for many months to move from New York to Indiana, and have a new home waiting for them there. Every day Ashley had driven the two hour ride from their home to the hospital, to spend time with Baby Cathleen. They have never been able to visit her together as a couple, due to Covid restrictions. Unfortunately, the timing of their move did not line up with the challenges they are facing now. They are currently living in a hotel with Gloria, close to the hospital, after their lease ended. The costs of the hotel, meals, parking, moving expenses are piling up. Future expenses in getting their family from the hotel and NICU are imminent. Jake has had to put new job opportunities on hold to be with his family.
This young family is strong, but could use some financial help right now. The next chapter of parenthood for them will be hard, but they have been so incredibly strong, and are taking everything day by day. Let's help them in any way we can, to take the next steps in bringing Baby Cathleen home! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your consideration in helping this family.
