On June 10, 2025, our lives were turned upside down. Due to unexpected pregnancy complications, I was urgently flown by air ambulance to Vancouver and placed on strict bed rest. Just two weeks later, our beautiful daughter Cheyenne came into this world far too soon—born at only 26 weeks via emergency C-section.
Cheyenne has been bravely fighting for her life in the NICU ever since. She has already endured pneumonia and the rollercoaster that comes with being so premature: two steps forward, two steps back. Every day is a battle for strength and healing, and every milestone is a miracle. Doctors tell us she will likely need at least another one to two months in hospital, with many follow-up visits in Vancouver afterward.
While I spent nearly a month recovering in hospital after surgery, Andrew had to remain home caring for our older daughter Elloise while still working to provide for our family. On weekends he would travel to see us, until eventually Elloise joined me in Vancouver when childcare was no longer available. These past three months have been the hardest of our lives—filled with worry, separation, and overwhelming expenses.
To make matters worse, despite being born in Canada, our application for B.C. medical coverage for Cheyenne was denied. We were told we will be responsible for her hospital bills, on top of the costs of travel, lodging, and food while being so far from home. It is a devastating reality we never imagined facing, especially in a country where healthcare is supposed to be covered.
We are humbly asking for your support—whether through donations, prayers, or sharing our story. Every contribution will help ease the financial burden so that we can focus on what truly matters: standing by Cheyenne’s side until she is strong enough to come home.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us through this journey.
With love and gratitude,
Brittany, Andrew, Elloise & Baby Cheyenne
