Help Bring Arvie Nueda Home to the Philippines

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help in bringing home our fellow international student, Arvie Nueda, who tragically passed away in Australia.

Who Was Arvie?

Arvie was a 24-year-old Filipino international student who arrived in Sydney on September 1, 2024, with big dreams of building a better future. He was a Civil Engineering graduate from NEUST in Cabanatuan City, and he came to Australia to study Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design in hopes of securing a brighter career.

Arvie was hardworking, kind, and full of ambition. He wanted to make his family proud and create a better life for them, especially after his mother’s passing in June 2024. Despite his personal loss, he pushed forward with his plans, believing that this new journey in Australia would be the start of something great.

What Happened?

On Saturday night, March 29 Arvie attended a party. He came home, went to his room, and never came out. The next day, his housemates noticed he hadn’t left his room all day. When they checked on him… it was already too late.

His family in the Philippines received the devastating news on Sunday night at 10:30 PM.

Right now, the NSW Police Forensics team is investigating the cause of his passing through an autopsy. His family is still waiting for answers.

Why We Need Your Help

Beyond the pain of losing Arvie, his family is now facing another heartbreaking challenge: bringing him home to the Philippines.

According to the Philippine Consulate in Sydney, the cost of repatriating Arvie’s remains is around ₱297,000 PHP (approx. $8,000 AUD / $5,000 USD). His family cannot afford this amount on their own, and we are asking for your kindness and generosity to help them in this difficult time.
