My sister, Arlet Arguello, went on a trip to Portugal to celebrate her birthday. Tragically, her life was taken in an accident caused by a drunk driver. She was far from home, without any family or friends nearby, and now I am faced with the heartbreaking task of bringing her back to North Carolina so our family can say goodbye and give her the burial she deserves.

The costs to transport Arlet’s body in a coffin from Portugal are overwhelming, and my parents, who are on a fixed income, are prepared to use their life savings to make sure she is laid to rest with dignity. If there is anything left after covering the transport, it will go toward the funeral and burial expenses. Every bit of support will help ease the financial burden on my family during this incredibly difficult time.
