Help Bring Ari & Dee to the NYC Stage

That guy you went to high school with?

He’s the god of pleasure and pain.

That girl you went to high school with?

She’s a wayward island princess/primordial earth goddess.

Part ancient poetry, part house-party-gone-way-too-late, Ari + Dee is a modern retelling of the Ariadne and Dionysus myth, exploring how we care for one another and the archetype of “damsels in distress”.

Ari + Dee, presented by The Dyon Collective, will premiere at The Vino Theatre on April 21st, 2023 and we need your help to make it happen!

This play is written by Alex Moon, a non-binary writer from the South Shore of Massachusetts, and directed by Maeve Aurora Chapman, who also hails from the South Shore of Massachusetts. Alex and Maeve wrote and directed a play together in high school that went on to win numerous awards, including Best Play and Best Direction, and now they are back at it again in the Big Apple.

How can you help? Money, of course! Just kidding. Sort of. While of course donations are incredibly appreciated, even sharing this page or following us on Instagram, @thedyoncollective, to help get the word out is fantastic.

Where will your money go? From set construction to venue rental, our budget of $5,000 will allow us to transform the Vino Theatre into a semi-godly, run-down apartment in Sommerville, MA. (The irony is not lost on us that Alex & Maeve moved to NYC just to do a play about Boston).
