My name is Brook VerBeek, and Another Day is a deeply personal film. I lost my little brother to suicide, he was only 14 years old. This project was created from loss itself and from the belief that this could reach a person that would need it.
Another Day, though fictional, is a message to anyone who believes that ending their life is a solution, when it is nowhere near a fraction of the answer. The premise is:
“An elderly woman with dementia regains her memory only in the presence of one man, revealing a past that nearly ended her life.”
What is revealed is that when they were in high school, this man saved her from committing suicide. Because of that moment, she was able to live a full life: to go to college, to love, to have a family, and to grow old. This film is a love letter to those who are struggling, a reminder that even in unbearable moments, there is still so much life ahead. We have an incredible cast and a dedicated crew ready to bring this story to life. To provide food, equipment, and a safe, comfortable environment for everyone involved, we need your help. As a thank you, all donors will be credited in the film. Bringing Another Day to life is part of my healing, and my hope is that it reaches someone who needs it, exactly when they need it most.
