Hello everyone, my name is Sabrina Anderson, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart today on behalf of my family.
Andrew Pool, my grandfather, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Monday, October 20, 2025 in the Philippines where he was living. The shock is immense, especially since he was scheduled to fly back home this Friday. Andy was the heart of our family—a wonderful father, uncle, grandfather, and friend—and a proud veteran who dedicated 22 years of his life to the U.S. Army, serving from 1972 to 1994. We are determined to bring him home to give him the proper memorial service he deserves and honor him.
Because Andy's passing happened unexpectedly overseas, we are facing huge and immediate financial hurdles. To legally secure his remains and begin the necessary process of cremation, the funeral home in the Philippines requires a payment of approximately $6,000 upfront before his remains can be released to us. This sudden cost, combined with the complex fees required to transport him back to the U.S. and arrange a proper service here, is a crushing financial burden on our grieving family.
We are setting a goal of $7,500 to help us cover these essential expenses: the initial $6,000 to bring him out of the Philippines, the specialized fees for cremation, and the costs of his memorial service back home. Every single donation will make a real, tangible difference in helping us navigate this impossible situation.
If Andy ever touched your life, made you laugh, or offered you his wisdom in automotives, please consider helping us bring him home one last time. Thank you so much for reading our story. If you can't donate, please help us immensely by sharing this fundraiser with your network.
With immense gratitude,
