Hi! I am Jen Pleasants, friend of Betty Chepngetich of Kenya, an amazing young woman who wishes to work as a nurse in the US. Right now we are in the middle of a big nursing shortage in America and someone with her skills is greatly needed here.
I met Betty through and organization we suport called We.org. She is one of their top graduates with an impressive record and a huge heart. With the job market for nurses tough in Kenya, I asked her about her dream job she writes:
"My dream after graduation was to get employed in a busy hospital offering good health care services with empathy and compassion. But after searching without getting one with my siblings, mum and alot of responsibilities at home waiting for me I opted to focus my energy on NCLEX exam . This is an exam that enables nurses to be registered and work anywhere in the world. My dream is to do that NCLEX pass and get a job in the United States. I know with a job there I will be able to provide for my family and also start a nursing home at our village which has always been my dream.
This is therefore a request for your support to achieve this dream. The total cost of training , exam booking, visa application, flight and all other preparation is 2500. I know this is a lot to ask after all you've done for me. I wish I had another way. I already joined US WhatsApp group called aspire US nurse, it is an organisation that helps nurses with all preparation until one gets a job."
My hope is that with your help we can make her wish come true! It is a win win for her and our country. And if you have ever been in a hospital, you know how critical it is to have nurses you trust who are compassionate and caring.
