Our little goose, Alicia Mae Lopez, was found unresponsive on November 2nd, 2025. Despite immediate CPR, emergency transport, and three days in the pediatric ICU, she passed away on November 5th. Alicia Mae had bright blue eyes, a captivating smile, and brought joy to everyone around her. Most of her siblings witnessed the tragedy and the frantic efforts to save her, and one didn't learn until nearly a week later—reminders of the ongoing trauma our family faces. This year has been a cascade of heartbreak: we’ve also lost both my grandmothers—including the original Alicia, her namesake—and nearly lost my grandfather. I was fired from my job in July after Alicia was born, and again on November 11th, just six days after her death. Now we have zero income, four children, and mounting bills, with no savings or safety net. We've already received a large bill from Sparrow, and more are coming from LifeFlight and Mott's PICU.

We are desperate to bring Alicia Mae home to Texas, to rest in our family cemetery with the woman she was named after, where she belongs as part of our family legacy. We need help covering immediate medical bills, burial and travel expenses, moving from the home where she died, and—most importantly—time to be present for our four surviving children as they process losing their baby sister. Through it all, Alicia Mae gave life to others as an organ donor. Even as we left the hospital, she brought joy—Sarah gave her balloon to a stranger whose face lit up with happiness.
