✈️ HELP US BRING THE MAGIC OF AN AIR FESTIVAL BACK TO WEYMOUTH!

Remember the excitement of Weymouth Carnival? The crowds, the entertainment, the atmosphere and that wonderful feeling of our whole community coming together?

We want to bring that magic back – and make it even bigger!

At AIR FM, we're working on an ambitious proposal to bring AIR Festival 2027 to Weymouth seafront, combining spectacular aerial entertainment with all the best bits of our much-loved traditional carnival.

Imagine looking up over Weymouth Bay to see breathtaking flying displays, while the seafront comes alive with live music, entertainment, stalls, family activities and community celebrations.

We're exploring the possibility of:

✈️ Military and civilian aircraft displays and flypasts

Spectacular aerial entertainment, potentially including drone displays and aircraft pyrotechnics

Live bands, DJs and music throughout the festival

Traditional carnival-style attractions and family entertainment

Local food, drink and independent business stalls

Aviation and STEM activities to inspire the next generation

❤️ Opportunities for local charities and community organisations

But here's the thing – we can't do it without you!

This is currently a proposal, not a confirmed event. Bringing something of this scale to Weymouth requires substantial funding, sponsorship, volunteers, specialist expertise and the necessary permissions.

We've already started conversations with local authorities and other organisations, and the initial response has been encouraging.

Now we need the community to help us take the next step.

WHAT IF EVERY LOCAL BUSINESS GAVE JUST £50?

Imagine the difference we could make if businesses across Weymouth and Portland each contributed £50.

Of course, you don't have to be a business to help. Whether you can spare £5, £10, £25, £50 or more, every donation will help support the work needed to explore and develop this exciting proposal.

We're also looking for larger corporate sponsors, community partners and volunteers who can offer their time, skills or expertise.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

We believe Weymouth deserves big ambitions.

A successful festival could bring thousands of visitors to the town, support our local shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and hotels, create opportunities for community organisations and give local families something wonderful to enjoy together.

And wouldn't it be fantastic to create something that future generations could look forward to every year?

This isn't just about aircraft. It's about community pride, supporting our town and bringing people together.

HOW WILL YOUR DONATION HELP?

Funds raised will support the planning and development of the proposed festival, including specialist advice, event infrastructure, safety planning, aviation arrangements and other essential costs.

All proposals remain subject to feasibility, funding, relevant permissions and safety approvals. We will keep supporters updated as plans progress and explain how donations are used.

If the festival cannot proceed, we will publish an update explaining what has happened and how any remaining funds will be handled, in accordance with the fundraising terms and applicable requirements.

❤️ LET'S MAKE SOMETHING AMAZING HAPPEN!

If you love Weymouth, remember the magic of Carnival, or simply want to see our town buzzing with excitement again, please consider donating.

And if you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as valuable!
