My name is Laura Riley, and I have set up this GoFundMe to support my fiancé and his family during an incredibly difficult time. His brother, Adam, is currently in a coma and in critical condition in a hospital in Romania.

I created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on the family, allowing them to travel to Romania and stay close to Adam while he receives urgent medical care. This is an extremely intense and emotional time for them all, and I want to do everything I can to relieve some of the stress they are facing.

All funds raised will be withdrawn by me and distributed directly to the family to cover essential expenses. This includes flights, accommodation, and costs associated with Adam’s medical care while he remains in Romania. Funds may also be used for a potential medical repatriation flight to bring Adam back to the UK for further treatment, should and when he becomes stable enough to travel.

At this stage, it is unclear when Adam will be able to return to the UK, as he remains in a coma in a high dependency unit. Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards supporting the family and ensuring they can be with him during this critical time.

On Friday morning, Adam flew to Romania to celebrate his stag do with friends. Tragically, shortly after arriving he became unwell and was taken to hospital while undergoing treatment for type 1 diabetes his heart stopped. He was resuscitated but is now in a coma in a Romanian hospital. His brother has stayed by his side, but the situation is incredibly difficult, with very limited support and uncertainty around when he will be well enough to return home. We are trying to get close family members out to Romania as soon as possible to be with him during this critical time. The costs for last-minute flights, accommodation, and daily expenses are quickly adding up, and we don’t know how long this situation may last.
