Abdi is a cherished friend, family member, and pillar of his community. For over a decade, he has been married to his wife, Rhoda, an American citizen, and together they have built a life rooted in love and service. Abdi has dedicated himself to helping others, volunteering at a shelter for unhoused individuals and at a treatment center. As a devoted and sober member of the recovery community, he has mentored countless individuals struggling with addiction, offering hope and guidance to those in need. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support have touched the lives of many, making him a beloved figure in his community.

Recently, Abdi was detained by ICE, a situation that has brought immense hardship to his family and all who care about him. Despite his deep ties to the community and his marriage to Rhoda, he now faces an uncertain future. The  process ahead is daunting and costly; requiring Rhoda to take time off work and navigate the process with her already impacted income.  Funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards resources to help Abdi and his family fight for his freedom to reunite with all those who he loves and who love him.
