Help bring AA to HIV orphans in Nairobi

Donation protected
Several years ago, Laurie and I went to Africa when Andrew came into our lives. We were able to bring him to NYC to join our family. He is currently a junior at Georgetown. It's a remarkable story. We have stayed in contact with his orphanage and they have asked me to come over and help them start an AA meeting.   In America, 88k people drink themselves to death annually, 1800 young adults die through use of alcohol, globally the stats are just as dire. While AA can't help them all, it will help some. The money will be used to travel to Nairobi, bring them the AA literature (it will never make it if it's just shipped) and help them establish a sustainable meeting in the Dagoretti slums. The Red Cross has committed a meeting space but we need your help to jump start this effort. If you're a person in recovery, help us by sending the cost of your last drink. If you have cared about someone impaired by alcohol, help us by sharing the message of hope in a part of the world without much. Most of the boys have been orphaned by the HIV crisis, their chances to break free from extreme poverty are limited if they exist at all. An alcoholic death is bleak and preventable. They also love anything American, Yankee hats, band T shirts and of course, a soccer ball is like manna from heaven. Come on recovery folks, we can make this happen.
