Help Us Bring This Dynamic Story to the Screen!
We’re raising funds to adapt a play originally produced through Euphoria Theatre Company (ETC) into a short film. This project marks an exciting expansion of ETC’s work from live theater into film, allowing this story to reach audiences far beyond the stage.
Spanning 15 years, the story is a sensitive and intimate portrayal of the trans experience and the magic of friendship. Somewhere between a love letter to your best friend and an ode to self-discovery, it explores how we change over time, whether we want to or not, and how we sometimes find ourselves returning to who we once were. At its heart, the story asks: Can unconditional love exist between two people who love each other differently?
This project feels especially urgent due to the continued lack of meaningful POC representation both on screen and behind the camera. The film centers Asian American trans and queer characters and is committed to uplifting trans and queer voices within the broader LGBTQIA+ community, both on screen and throughout the creative process.
Euphoria Theatre Company is a non-hierarchical organization dedicated to collaborative, artist-led storytelling. We prioritize care, equity, and fair pay for artists, and we believe in creating work rooted in joy, authenticity, and community connection.
ETC recently received nonprofit status, and this film represents an important next step in our growth as an organization. By expanding into film, we are able to preserve this work, broaden its impact, and continue ETC’s mission of telling affirming, representative stories across mediums.
Funds raised will go directly toward paying our artists, securing locations, equipment, post-production, and festival submissions. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us bring this story to life and supports ETC as we enter this new chapter.
Euphoria Theatre Company is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Thank you so much for believing in this work and supporting our community!
