Hi, my name is Kat — and this bookstore dream of mine isn’t just about selling books. It’s about bringing something our island has never had: a place where romance lives, where stories feel alive, and where people can come to get lost in a page.

Right now, Guam’s bookstores are disappearing — and the ones that remain often feel more clinical than cozy. There’s no spark, no personality, no joy in the experience of finding a book. I believe our island deserves better.

That’s why I want to create Guam’s first romance-focused bookstore — a space with Blind Date with a Book surprises, shelves filled with smut, spice, guilty pleasures, and swoony love stories. A place that dares to specialize, to be bold, and to make reading fun again.

I’ve already been testing the waters through pop-ups and “build-a-book-experience” events, and the response has been incredible. People want this. They want books that feel fresh, that celebrate niche genres, and that make reading feel exciting again. Now, I’m ready to take the next step: building a permanent home for this community.
