Hello! Thank you for supporting this new Canadian play as we prepare to make our Edinburgh Fringe debut this August!

We are three Canadian artists with international experience who have formed Leaf Collective specifically to share Kimberly Denness-Thomas' new play, A Little Green Leaf. After a successful tour of the south of England in September, we will be performing with The SpaceUK at both their Surgeon's Hall and Symposium Hall venues from August 7th-22nd. We have applied for grant opportunities and now are waiting to hear back (a process that can take up to four months). In the meantime we are reaching out to our community to help us with securing accommodations, submitting registration and venue hire fees on time, booking flights, and all other costs associated with an independent production crossing an ocean to find new audiences.

We saw the impact that this piece had on audiences of all ages first hand on our previous tour. Odette's story, and the lessons we can learn from her courage, resilience, and humour, are inspiring and deeply relevant to the world we live in today. We can't wait to perform this play again, and can't thank you enough for helping us realise this story's potential.

A Little Green Leaf is inspired by the life of Odette Hallowes (MBE, Legion d’Honneur, George Cross), Britain’s most highly decorated spy of The Second World War. Odette’s remarkable story is intimately illustrated by two actors supported by puppetry and shadowplay. From her service as an agent of the Special Operations Executive to her survival of Ravensbruck concentration camp, Odette is a woman who survives through her hope for humanity in the face of unimaginable suffering, carried by a little green leaf.

This show is a timely reminder of sacrifice, resilience, and how one strives for peace in the world’s darkest moments. With the full support of Odette's family, and an ensemble of highly regarded international artists, A Little Green Leaf is poised to bring Odette's story to a new generation, and remind others of the woman behind the story.
