Bonfire Bookshop & Press began with a simple hope: to create a warm, independent bookshop and literary gathering place for Fitchburg.

Since we took our first steps in 2020, it's been a five+ years of pop-ups, book fairs, online sales, publishing projects, renovations, and the slow, joyful work of collecting thousands of books.

Now, in Summer 2026, we are getting close to opening our doors later this year. Bonfire will be a place for used books, rare finds, new titles, local goods, book clubs and book culture... a place for browsing, conversation, and community.

Your donation will help with the last practical steps: shelves, shop fixtures, signs, supplies, opening costs, and staff compensation. So many people have already helped keep this flame lit. We are grateful beyond measure.

A bonfire is inviting, nostalgic, mesmerizing. A bookshop should be the same. Thank you for helping us bring Bonfire to life.
