Help Brighture Families

I’m writing to you with the understanding that this is a difficult time for everyone in the United States even though it is the holiday season.
My name is Yumiko Matsui. I live in Cupertino, CA. My husband Hiroshi runs Brighture, an English language school based in Cebu, Philippines.
Last week, the Philippines were hit hard by a category 5 typhoon Rai (Odette), greatly disturbing the lives of the local staff and the teachers. Many are still forced to live in difficult conditions without electricity, water, and gas.
Some had their roofs blown off or their entire houses washed away, and are struggling to rebuild their lives. There are many young teachers in Brighture who play an integral role in supporting the lives of their immediate families.
Since 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, Brighture has been offering online classes. Now that their homes and infrastructure are in ruins, they can’t resume their operation. I myself am one of the Brighture students and have often been touched by their immense dedication and passion. I hope our help can start their new lives, and heal their anxiety and trauma caused by this typhoon.
Christmas is an especially significant event of the year for the people of the Philippines, with preparations for the celebration being planned as early as September. The money raised will directly improve the material conditions of these people, and help them recalibrate their lives for 2022. I greatly appreciate your time, consideration, and kind donations to help rebuild their lives and support their families.
