Hi, my name is Jeanette. My Aunt, Brigette Hirst, is a loving wife, a woman of God, a mom of 5, and a nurse.

She has spent her life giving back to her community, to her family, and her children have followed her lead. Two of her sons recently became NYPD officers, one is preparing to leave for military boot camp, one daughter is in school to be a nurse, and the other is in school to become a social worker. Brigette has always been the person who would literally give the shirt off her back for someone in need. She has dedicated her life to caring for others and she rarely pours that same care into herself.

Now she is the one who needs support. She has been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her liver and spine, and she has multiple compound fractures in her spine. She cannot be heavily medicated for pain because it affects her breathing, which we learned recently when she coded and was admitted to the ICU. She is stable right now, but her road ahead is long and extremely difficult. She was the main breadwinner, and the financial burden on the family is becoming overwhelming.

I started this GoFundMe to help cover treatments, therapies, and other medical expenses to try to ease that strain so she can focus on fighting. Any amount helps and is truly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
