Help Brie's Beloved Cat Gibson Get Critical Surgery.
Donation protected
My good friends will tell you that I hate asking for help, and I love and will do anything for my fur babies. The latter is taking precedence over my pride. My sweet Gibson is currently in the ER at VCA Weymouth with a urinary blockage. Unfortunately, this is all too common in male cats. I lost my sweet McGee to it years ago. Gibson was also blocked once before, 6+ years ago, so I am no stranger to it and how serious it is. I thought I was doing everything right: he is strictly on RX urinary food, only bottled spring water, and has plenty of litter boxes (a fancy automatic one to boot), but it wasn't enough. He had his initial treatment tonight, so he is out of danger of kidney failure for the night, but the doctor was unable to push the stone back into his bladder. What this means is that right now his best chance is a PU surgery where they will go in and shorten and widen the urethra (essentially a sex change), and even with insurance, I am looking at a bill of over $5000. I paid the first $1000 tonight and would literally sell a kidney if I need to. If you can donate any amount to help toward the bill, I would be forever grateful. -Brie
