Help Brielle fight stage 4 cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Paris, and my family and I are starting this fundraiser for our beautiful sister, Brielle, who is only 39 years old and is currently fighting the battle of her life.

Brielle has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma and Peritoneal Carcinoma, an incredibly rare and aggressive form of cancer. The diagnosis has devastated our family and completely changed the course of her life in a matter of months.

Anyone who knows Brielle knows she is one of the most kind-hearted, selfless, and caring people you could ever meet. She has always been the first person to help someone in need, whether it was family, friends, neighbours, or even strangers. Brielle has spent her life putting others before herself, offering support, kindness, and love without ever expecting anything in return.

She is the person who shows up when someone is struggling, who puts everyone else’s needs before her own, and who gives from the heart. She has touched so many lives through her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support of those around her. Now, for the first time, she is the one who needs help.

Every day is a struggle. Brielle lives with constant pain that makes even the simplest daily tasks incredibly difficult. Things many of us take for granted, such as getting out of bed, preparing meals, attending appointments, and caring for her family, have become overwhelming challenges.

Most importantly, Brielle is a devoted mother to her two beautiful children. Her son is 13 years old and has autism, and her daughter is 10 years old. They are both trying to navigate the heartbreaking reality of watching their mum battle a life-threatening illness. No child should have to face the uncertainty, fear, and sadness that comes with seeing their mother suffer.

As a family, we are doing everything we can to support Brielle and her children, but the emotional and financial burden is becoming overwhelming.

Brielle’s treatment journey involves ongoing specialist consultations, hospital admissions, medical procedures, and frequent trips to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA). Alongside the physical and emotional toll of cancer comes significant financial pressure, with everyday expenses continuing while Brielle fights for her life.

In the coming weeks, Brielle will begin chemotherapy in an effort to stop the cancer from spreading any further and to give her the best possible chance of undergoing major life-saving surgery. The planned surgery is extensive and will involve the removal of at least half of her bowel, affected lymph nodes, a complete hysterectomy, removal of the peritoneum, and a specialised heated internal chemotherapy treatment known as a “hot chemo wash” (HIPEC). This is an enormous procedure that will require a long recovery and ongoing medical support.

One of the biggest challenges is managing Brielle’s pain. Due to the severity of her illness, she requires strong pain medication to help maintain some quality of life and comfort during treatment. Unfortunately, some of these medications are not covered under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), leaving Brielle and our family to cover the full cost. These expenses quickly add up and create an additional financial burden at a time when our focus should be on supporting Brielle through her fight.

The funds raised will help ease some of that burden by assisting with:

• Household bills and everyday living expenses
• Prescription medications and pain management costs not covered by the PBS
• Travel expenses to and from RPA Hospital
• Parking fees for ongoing medical appointments
• Groceries and essential household items
• Supporting Brielle’s children during this incredibly difficult time
• Small treats, activities, and special moments for the children to bring them comfort, happiness, and a sense of normality while their mum undergoes treatment

As Brielle’s family, we are also reducing our work commitments so we can help care for her, attend appointments, support her children, and be there every step of the way. While we would do anything for Brielle, the financial impact of balancing work, caregiving, and medical commitments is significant.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help relieve some of the stress and allow Brielle to focus on what matters most — her treatment, her family, and making precious memories with the people she loves.

If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser with your family, friends, colleagues, and community would mean the world to us.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, prayers, and support during the most difficult time of our lives.

Brielle has spent her life helping others, lifting people up when they were struggling, and putting the needs of others before her own. Today, we are asking for help for her.

Together, we can help ease some of the burden she carries and show Brielle and her children that they are not facing this journey alone.

With love and gratitude,

Brielle’s family
