Help Brie See Again: Donate for Her Eye Surgery

Brie's story started in 2018. After my daughter's companion dog, since she was a child, passed away, a new college student, she, as well as the entire family, felt the loss.

The empty house and memory of Molly led my daughter and her mom to the local shelter.

Many dogs needed forever homes. One little 1-year-old pup attached herself to my daughter. They bonded, and Brie found her family.

A healthy lab/pit mix, she was a perfect fit. Lovable, playful, and protective, this relationship blossomed. When COVID hit, Brie's constant love held the family's spirits high. My wife, and daughter's mom, had two major surgeries. While she was recovering at home, Brie never left her side.

Before her annual check-up, I noticed she was urinating large amounts.

I mentioned this to the doctor, suspecting the worst. Brie had type 1 diabetes.

While at the vet's having her glucose measured, she developed fast-growing diabetic cataracts. This devastated our family.

We took her to an eye specialist who confirmed the issue. The doctor says she is a good candidate for cataract surgery.

The cost is high. I'm a retired firefighter on a fixed income. Affording the surgery is out of our budget now.

The low end is $2,400 to a high of $5,000! Asking for help is never easy. Please consider assisting us with restoring Brie's sight!

Blessings and love, Thank you, Brie's family.
