Help Bridgette through her fight against cancer

Donation protected
Bridgette Almaraz is a loving mom, wife, daughter, niece, cousin, and friend to all. She has served as a “hair therapist” to many of us for years. She brings out the best in everyone with her calm, loving, patient personality and open ear. Bridgette is strong in faith and spirit.

She has worked very hard over the past several years to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She has balanced her roles as a mom, wife, hairstylist, student, and friend while commuting to nursing school at Otero Junior College. As if her plate wasn’t full enough, her world came to a stop when she was diagnosed with breast cancer (Stage 3 HER 2 Inductive Invasive Carcinoma) in November.

Bridgette has tried hard to keep things as “normal” as possible for herself, her husband, George, and her children, Jace and Khailyn. She started chemotherapy two days before Christmas and has tried her best to work part-time on the days she feels well enough while following safety/health precautions. Covid cases in Pueblo are at an all-time high. She puts herself at significant risk each day she is in public.

Many people have asked how they can support the Almaraz family. Although they have health insurance, it won’t cover everything, and unexpected expenses quickly add up. Our goal is to help support the Almaraz family through prayer and donations to keep Bridgette as safe and healthy as possible through her fight. Financial support will allow her to focus her time and energy on healing and spending time with family while completing school and clinicals. At this point, they are taking everything day by day. Bridgette has at least four more rounds of treatment and will graduate on April 30, 2022. We pray she will heal fully during this first course of treatment.

The Almaraz family appreciates and would like to thank everyone for the support they've received since sharing their news. Please keep Bridgette, George, Jace and Khai in your heart, thoughts, and prayers; donate if you can, and/or share this with others. We realize times are tough for everyone and understand if you aren't able to contribute. Any money donated will go directly to Bridgette’s bills, copays, school, travel expenses, etc. Let’s show the Almaraz family, “Their fight is our fight”!
