Help Bridget Overcome Cancer Once Again
Donation protected
On June 21st, my sister Bridget was diagnosed with Epithelioid Mesothelioma, an aggressive cancer affecting the lining of her abdominal cavity. It has been an incredibly challenging time for Bridget and our family, because as some of you may know, this is not her first fight against cancer.
When Bridget was 2 years old, she was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, which is a pediatric kidney cancer. In April of 1990, Bridget underwent surgery to remove the tumor, along with her left kidney, spleen and the tail of her pancreas. After surgery, she received radiation and chemotherapy treatments. This past April, Bridget celebrated being 34 years cancer free, but in two short months she was diagnosed with cancer again, due to the intensive radiation she received as a child.
Bridget, who works as a Case Manager and Care Coordinator at Lafayette College, is a dedicated professional, loving wife, devoted dog mom to Boston and Murphy, and a cherished friend and family member. Her spirit, humor, and compassion have always been a source of joy and strength for those around her.
This summer Bridget began chemotherapy treatment and is consulting with Memorial Sloan Kettering for alternate treatment options. Needless to say, her fight against cancer will be emotionally and physically challenging on Bridget. With your help, she can be relieved from the financial stress and instead focus on her journey ahead.
I will be posting regular updates to keep you informed about Bridget’s progress. Thank you for helping Bridget in this time of need. Bridget is the most resilient person I know and she is ready to beat cancer again!
