My name is Bridget Drewke. In April 2024, while traveling for work, I was trapped in an Uber and subjected to a terrifying 40-minute assault. I was screamed at with gender-based slurs, physically attacked, and threatened with my life. I captured part of this on video and immediately sought help from law enforcement as soon as I was able.
Instead of protection, I’ve faced systemic failures. Critical evidence was lost because investigators delayed action. This was directly tied to my employment at the time and caused me to be out of work for almost a year and forced me to leave the professional career I had spent nearly a decade building. Despite video proof and official reports , I have been forced to fight not only for justice, but for my safety, career, and stability.
The man who assaulted me has familial ties to the judiciary and very deep pockets which to me provides the only explanation as to how he is now successfully using the legal system against me. I am facing ongoing litigation in New Jersey, including a retaliatory protective order, while simultaneously pursuing my own civil case in New York. I have already exhausted my savings paying for legal help, medical care, and daily expenses, and I am required to travel back to New Jersey to defend myself in a protection order despite me clearly and objectively being the victim of the assault.
I am fundraising to cover:
• Legal fees to defend myself and move my case forward
• Court travel costs (I live in Michigan but must appear in New Jersey October 6)
• Therapy and medical treatment related to PTSD caused by the assault.
This fight is beyond just me, it’s about holding abusers and broken systems accountable. If I am silenced, it sets a dangerous precedent for other women who come forward.
Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward ensuring I have the representation and resources to see this through. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you for standing with me in this fight for safety and justice.
—Bridget
